Action film posters
"The Dark Night" poster
As we decided to produce a teaser trailer for an action film we had to look at films with similar attributes such as fast paced action, and violence. So we decided to look at these posters. This poster itself is very efffective in the way that the character is portrayed as he looks the same size as the big surrounding buildings which indicates that he is a powerfull villan. This is gathered by the fact that he is in the middle of all of this chaos and looks like he is going to get vengeance.
An example poster that we loooked at would be the poster for the new "Dark Night", as itself is an action film as we gather allot of information from this poster we had decided to produce it in a similar way with the main character infront of the area it is set. We were deciding to make our poster with a similar look, just a large image (a minimul poster). But after consideration and seeing st the ideas that we had come up with we chose not to just go with a minimal poster as it would not of had been an effective by it self, so instead we decided to have a large image of jeffrey with another of him fighting with one of the agents.

"Transpoter 3" Poster
A poster that we had done an anlaysis on was the "transpoter 3" Poster, the poster itself uses a minimal photo to display the main character in the film. The photo itself is a high quality photo with an effective story as from this one image you can tell it has something to do with the bracelet attached to his rist, and the gun tells us that he is capable of anything.
However this minimal poster was no to our satisfaction as is seemed too plain and needed to have more action and a sense of movement within the poster.

But the second poster of the same film "transpoter 3" (on the left) had caught our attention as it once again displays to us the braclet on his wrist and the weapons (Guns). But it also shows to us a bigger image of the main character diving through the air, this gives us a sense of movement of the image. The photoin the center displays to us an image of a woman with a Gun and a car, from this we can gather that the woman and car are involved with the main character, and that it will be a fast paced action with speed chases in the car.
"The Bourne ultimatum" poster
Another poster that we had looked at was one of Bourne films, "The Bourne Ultimatum". From this poster we can only see his face and can see the determination in his face displaying to us that he is determined to do what he came to do. However the use of the darkness on one side of his face gives a sense of mystery and evil to the poster and could indicate that he is going to be more aggressive and seek more vengeance than before.
After analysing this poster we decided not to go with a poster with a similar look as it seemed to look like a minimal poster and you are not able to gain alot form it unless you have seen the previous films, So we decided not to use the idea of the close up of the main characters face.

This poster of the film "Kill Switch" the poster just by looking at it gives off a sense of action and violence via the use of the main character (we persume), holding a gun and looking as if he is ready to kill someone. And also the image of the other people at the bottom of the poster with the woman being tortured and the ohter woman with a weapon.
This poster helped us on our idea of the structure of the poster, as the idea of the person with the man with the weapon and at the bottom of a different scene of the film. This seemed to be a good idea therefore we used a similar structure fo our poster.

Final poster idea
This is our final poster, its big bold picture of the main character pointing a gun over the camera.The use of the half picture of London and the black was to display the different people and sides of them, the black side was the dark side who are after him and the city to display a social person who is in the light and the good side Jeffrey’s character.
The decision to darken the image of our main character took time as we were not sure whether to do so or not but as the image was too light and did not fit in with the dark background we decided to make the image slightly darker using the burn tool. The title and the tagline are in the chosen fonts as they give out a government top secret text format, the key idea of this was to make the film seem like a government conspiracy.
Our final idea was heavily influenced a lot of minimal film posters that gained a good review. We also took the idea of having the page slit in two using the main character as the divide, the final product i believe it to be to a good high standard.
